The Executive Director and the Head of Operations of MAOC-N recently received the Brazilian Ambassador to Portugal, Raimundo Carreiro Silva, at the Centre’s headquarters in Lisbon, reaffirming the excellent cooperation between Brazil and MAOC (N), namely through discussing the country’s strategic importance in combating maritime drug trafficking and new paths for further collaboration in the future.
Ambassador Carreiro Silva was also briefed on some of the Centre’s current operations, with a particular focus on the vulnerabilities of the Gulf of Guinea and the consequent emergence of new maritime drug trafficking routes in that area.
The Brazilian Federal Police has been a key strategic partner of MAOC-N, providing valuable intelligence in coordinated counter-narcotics operations.
