MAOC (N) welcomes its new Executive Director, Jose Ferreira

MAOC (N) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Executive Director, Jose Ferreira.

Ferreira, a Criminal Investigation Coordinator in the Portuguese Judicial Police, brings almost 27 years of experience in law enforcement, including extensive leadership of investigative and intelligence teams dedicated to tackling international drug trafficking.

With a long-standing connection to MAOC (N), Ferreira previously served as its Head of Operations for eight years, playing a central role in coordinating complex, multinational efforts against drug trafficking.

In the past two years, he was seconded to the Delegation of the European Union to Colombia as a Political Adviser on Security and Drugs, a role that further strengthened his expertise and international network.

Ferreira holds a law degree and a postgraduate qualification in ‘Legal Problems on Drugs and Drug Addiction’. His outstanding contributions to international law enforcement have been recognised through several international awards, including honours from the Spanish National Police and Guardia Civil, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration/Department of Justice, the United Kingdom National Crime Agency, and the Colombian Navy.
