A joint operation conducted by the Spanish authorities involving the Guardia Civil, the National Police and Customs Surveillance Services (DAVA) has resulted in the seizure of 7130Kg of hashish.
The Tug vessel FELSTED, sailing under the flag of Vanuatu, was intercepted on the 14th of April 2021 after crossing the Strait of Gibraltar coming from the western Moroccan coast.
The vessel was taken to the port of Algeciras in Spain, where a deep search was conducted, and 200 bales of hashish were discovered on board. The three Ukrainian crew members were arrested.
This operation is the result of an extensive exchange of information and operational coordination between the Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese and UK authorities.
