The Executive Director of EMSA Mrs. Maja Markovčić Kostelac visited the MAOC-N, in a meeting that served to strengthen the ties of cooperation between the Centre and this European agency also based in Lisbon, in a partnership that started in 2008, and has been progressively consolidating over the years.
In a very fruitful meeting, there was an opportunity for talks on this long-standing joint cooperation and potential future areas of collaboration.
The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) currently provides MAOC-N with various maritime monitoring and surveillance tools and services that have proved to be essential in the fight against drug trafficking by sea.
