On July 7th, Assistant Commissioner Justin Kelly from the Irish Organised & Serious Crime (OSC) An Garda Sìochàna, visited the Centre’s Headquarters accompanied by Detective Superintendent Sé McCormack and Detective Superintendent Steven Meighan, from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau [GNDOCB].
During his visit to MAOC-N, the Assistant Commissioner was briefed on some of the Centre’s current operations and on the latest trends identified by the Centre on maritime and aviation drug trafficking. The meeting reaffirmed the excellent cooperation between the Irish authorities and MAOC-N, as well as the country’s strategic importance in fighting maritime drug trafficking in the Atlantic.
As one of the founding countries, Ireland has been a key strategic partner of MAOC-N, having contributed with valuable intelligence in operations coordinated through the Centre and facilitating international cooperation in the context of maritime drug trafficking.
