On 5 September 2025, the MAOC (N) Executive Director hosted the Ambassador of Belgium to Portugal, H.E. Bart Lammens, at the Centre’s headquarters in Lisbon.
The visit also marked the official start of duty of the new Belgian Liaison Officer to MAOC (N), Evert de Trogh, who took up his post on 1 September. Also in attendance were the former Belgian Executive Board Member, Jean Fontaine, and his successor, the newly appointed Belgian Executive Board Member, Olivier Lozet.
Belgium’s accession as a partner country in 2024 has further reinforced MAOC (N)’s capacity to combat transatlantic drug trafficking. It underscores the joint commitment of Belgium and the Centre to strengthen cooperation through enhanced intelligence sharing and operational coordination in the fight against organised crime groups
