Brazilian authorities intercept a sailing vessel loaded with hashish, with the support of MAOC-N

In a joint operation conducted by the Federal Police and the Navy, the Brazilian authorities were able to intercept a sailing vessel approximately 230 nautical miles off Recife (Brazil), carrying a significant amount of hashish.

The vessel was escorted to the port of Recife where 4300 Kg of hashish were found on board. The crew composed of one Estonian and one Russian citizens were arrested.

According to Brazilian Federal Police this is the biggest hashish seizure ever made in the country , and confirms the existence of a transatlantic route related to this type of substance.

This operation, involving decisive support from French Customs (DNRED), reinforces the importance of international cooperation and the work being carried out between the MAOC-N and the Brazilian Federal Police.
