MAOC-N was pleased to welcome Hans Leijtens, Executive Director of FRONTEX, for a visit to the Centre’s headquarters in Lisbon.
The visit formed part of the ongoing dialogue between the MAOC-N and FRONTEX, offering an opportunity to exchange perspectives on international drug trafficking and the operational challenges emerging across the maritime domain.
Mr Leijtens was hosted by MAOC-N’s Executive Director, with whom he discussed insights on evolving criminal methodologies and explored avenues for continued information exchange within each organisation’s remit.
Mr Leijtens was accompanied by FRONTEX’s Director of Strategy, Governance and External Relations Division, the Senior Frontex Liaison Officer to Portugal and the Contingent 5 Commander, who is currently stationed in Lisbon.
MAOC-N values this continued engagement and remains committed to productive cooperation with FRONTEX in combating organised drug-trafficking networks.
