French Authorities Seize Over 4 Tonnes of Cocaine in Joint Operation Supported by MAOC (N)

On Saturday, 12 July, the French authorities successfully intercepted and boarded a vessel in international waters during a maritime counter-narcotics operation supported by MAOC (N).

During the search, the boarding team uncovered 153 bales, weighing a total of 4841kg – almost five tonnes of cocaine – representing a significant disruption to the ever-evolving dynamics of organised crime groups engaged in transatlantic drug trafficking.

This successful interdiction was the result of close collaboration between French authorities, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S), the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), and the Serbian Service for Combating Organised Crime (SBPOK).

This is yet another case that demonstrates the crucial role of international cooperation in identifying, tracking, and intercepting maritime drug trafficking operations across multiple jurisdictions.
