German Authorities Seize 280kg of Cocaine in Oldenburg

On the morning of March 3, 2025, German special forces from the Lower Saxony Criminal Police (LKA) and Oldenburg’s Central Criminal Investigation Unit carried out a successful operation leading to the arrest of several individuals involved in the smuggling of a significant quantity of cocaine into Germany.

Their efforts confirmed that a bulk carrier, originating from South America, had been used to smuggle large amounts of narcotics. The operation, supported by MAOC (N), also had the collaboration of the Portuguese authorities.

On the night of March 3, three divers were seen entering the water near the vessel to retrieve the cocaine. Special forces swiftly intervened, arresting six individuals, including the divers, shortly after. Several searches conducted at various locations also led to the discovery of numerous packages containing a total of 280kg of cocaine, which had been concealed along the ship’s hull.

The arrested suspects hold various nationalities, including Romanian, Albanian, and Colombian. Ongoing investigations, led by the Oldenburg public prosecutor’s office, are set to continue in the coming days.
