U.S Senator Kyrsten Sinema visits MAOC-N

Kyrsten Lea Sinema, a senior United States senator from Arizona, was recently welcomed by the Executive Director of MAOC-N at its Headquarters in Lisbon, to discuss issues related to border security and international counterdrug efforts.

During her visit to MAOC-N, the Senator was briefed on some of the Centre’s current operations – with a particular focus on the vulnerabilities of the Gulf of Guinea – and on bilateral counterdrug efforts between the U.S. and Portugal.

The United States has been a strategic partner of MAOC-N since the Centre’s inception in 2007, having contributed with valuable intelligence and assets in operations coordinated through it.

Senator Kyrsten Sinema was accompanied by the Ambassador of the United States of America to Portugal, Randi Charno Levine.
