“Guinea Bissau Could Not Have Conducted This Seizure Without International Support” – Domingos Monteiro Correia

MAOC (N) was honored to welcome Domingos Monteiro Correia, National Director of the Judicial Police of Guinea Bissau, and his Deputy Fernando Costa, at the Centre’s Headquarters, where they were presented with the MAOC (N) Crest and a Certificate of Appreciation from one of MAOC (N)’s partner agencies, the DEA. These awards recognize their outstanding efforts and dedication in the fight against international drug trafficking.

Mr. Correia’s commitment was recently exemplified in the successful seizure of 2.63 tonnes of cocaine found on an aircraft at the country’s international airport, a testament to the exceptional collaboration between Guinea Bissau’s Judicial Police and international partners such as MAOC (N).

This achievement highlights the crucial role that cross-border cooperation play in disrupting transnational organised crime. As Mr. Correia stated during his debriefing speech, “[Guinea Bissau] could not have conducted the seizure without international support”.

MAOC (N) and its partner countries extend their sincere gratitude to Mr. Correia and the Judicial Police of Guinea Bissau for their continued partnership and contributions towards tackling drug trafficking via sea and air. The Centre remains optimistic about the future of this continued partnership and looks forward to achieving even greater results together.
