Commander in Chief of French Forces in the Atlantic visits MAOC-N

Vice-Admiral Jean-François Querat, Maritime Prefect and Commander in Chief of French forces in the Atlantic, recently paid a visit to MAOC-N alongside his staff.

During the meeting, the Vice-Admiral had the opportunity to delve into the operations conducted at the Centre and the cooperation efforts among partner countries aimed at combatting international organised crime in the maritime domain. The Vice-Admiral was also presented with the tools available to MAOC-N and gained insights into the most significant trends currently in use by the criminal organisations.

The MAOC-N Executive Director thanked the Vice-Admiral for the invaluable support rendered by the French Navy to the partner countries and highlighted the consistent deployment of the French Naval and Aerial assets to conduct maritime interdictions in the Atlantic, particularly in the sensitive West African region.

In the past year alone, the French Navy has conducted 13 maritime operations in coordination with MAOC-N, representing over 35 tonnes of cocaine seized.
