General Aviation Awareness Session in Lisbon

Organized jointly by the Portuguese Judicial Police (PJ), Air Force and MAOC (N), a General Aviation Awareness Session took place in the PJ headquarter in the last days.
Several aviation experts attended the event to enlighten an audience composed of PJ inspectors and MAOC (N) analysts on all issues related to General Aviation and the use of private aircraft in the context of drug trafficking.

Besides the entities already mentioned, other Portuguese institutions participated in this awareness session, such as the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), Customs (AT), Immigration and Borders Service (SEF), and Air Traffic Control (NAV).

This event represented an opportunity to improve the skills and knowledge of the participants in General Aviation and increase the general understanding of the risks and threats of drug trafficking through this “modus operandi”.
