On 31/01/2023, the MAOC (N) Executive Director, has met with the Her Excellency the Minister of Justice of Cape Verde Mrs. Joana Gomes Rosa Amado, during an official visit to Cabo Verde, aiming to strengthen existing cooperation.
This meeting aimed at strengthening the existing ties between Cape Verde and MAOC (N), discussing the archipelago’s strategic importance in combating drug trafficking by sea, as well as establishing new paths for further cooperation in the future.
During this official mission, the Executive Director also had opportunity to meet with Mrs. Ivanilda Varela, Director of the Cape Verdean Judicial Police, and Mr. Armindo António da Graça, Commander of the Cape Verdean Coast Guard.
Since 2008 Cape Verde has been a strategic partner of MAOC (N), having conducted some important cocaine seizures, in operations coordinated through the Centre.
