MAOC-N had the pleasure of welcoming Clóvis Isildo Silva, Minister of Justice of The Republic of Cabo Verde, to its headquarters in Lisbon, where discussions focused on reinforcing the longstanding cooperation between Cabo Verde and the Centre.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the current maritime drug trafficking landscape in the Atlantic and to discuss the importance of continued international cooperation in addressing transnational organised crime. Particular attention was given to Cabo Verde’s strategic geographical position and its key role in supporting regional and international efforts against illicit trafficking.
Cabo Verde has been a strategic partner of MAOC-N since the inception of the Centre and has contributed to a number of operations coordinated through it.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening operational cooperation and the continued importance of close cooperation between MAOC-N and its international partners in tackling the evolving challenges posed by maritime drug trafficking and transnational organised crime.
