Last week, the Executive Director of MAOC-N – accompanied by the Irish Country Liaison Officers to the Centre – visited Ireland, with a view to enhancing collaboration with key Irish agencies, and reaffirming the excellent cooperation between the Irish authorities and MAOC-N.
During the visit, discussions centered on the country’s strategic importance in fighting maritime drug trafficking in the Atlantic and on the recent successful drug seizure by the Irish authorities of over 2 tonnes of cocaine off the coast of Cork, on board the cargo vessel MATTHEW.
MAOC-N extends its gratitude to An Garda Síochána, the Revenue Commissioners, and the Irish Defence Forces for welcoming MAOC-N at their premises and for their continued trust, support, and contribution to the Centre’s work.
