In the last days of October the Senegalese Navy with the support of the French air assets stationed in Dakar, conducted a maritime operation which has resulted in the seizure of a considerable amount of cocaine.
The Polish flagged motor yacht LA ROSA, was intercepted in international waters off Dakar transporting 81 bags containing 2025Kg of cocaine. The crew, composed of 5 members of various nationalities, was arrested and handed over to the competent authorities.
This is one of the most significant and largest cocaine seizures ever made by the Senegalese Navy, which reinforces the West African coast as an important and strategic point for criminal organizations dedicated to maritime drug trafficking towards Europe.
