Spanish authorities seized 1200Kg of cocaine in a sailing vessel heading to Galicia

The Spanish authorities managed to intercept a sailing vessel approximatelly 900 nautical miles from the Canary Islands with 5 crew members on board.

The sailboat was boarded without any incident in very precarious sailing conditions, almost adrift, with some broken sails and engine.

After being towed to Las Palmas, 1200 Kg of cocaine were found on board.

As a result of this operation the 5 crew members have been arrested along with other 5 Spanish citizens arrested in land.

The final destination of this vessel should have been Galicia (Spain).
