Rear Admiral Jo-Ann Burdian, the assistant commandant for response policy, visited MAOC-N during her last stay in Lisbon accompanied by a delegation from the US Coast Guard.
The Rear Admiral, who is responsible for the development of strategic response doctrine and policy guidance for all Coast Guard forces, was briefed on the MAOC-N work, the contribution of the USA to the Centre and also some of the latest trends that have been recently identified in relation to maritime drug trafficking.
The United States has been a key strategic partner of MAOC-N since the Centre’s inception in 2007, having contributed with valuable intelligence and assets in operations coordinated through it.
