The director of Ireland’s National Police and Security Service, Commissioner Drew Harris, visited the MAOC-N to attend a meeting which aimed to strengthen cooperation ties between the two institutions on maritime drug trafficking.
The Commissioner was welcomed by the MAOC-N Head of Operations, who also had the opportunity to present the latest operational results of the Centre, as well as an update on the most prominent Irish cases and the new trends recently identified in relation to drug trafficking by sea.
The Irish authorities have been represented in MAOC-N by liaison officers from An Garda Síochána and Customs (CUSTAIM) since 2007.
